Blood diamonds are also referred to as conflict diamonds. Diamond mined in or around
a war or armed conflict zones in war torn Africa. Blood diamonds are gems that have
been used by rebel groups to fund armed conflict and civil war. Blood diamonds created
chaos in Africa, and all for a shiny rock that many happy couples use to define
their love to one another, when they may be, unknowingly, buying something filled
with hate.
Countries such as Sierra Leone, Angola and the Democratic Republic of Congo were
overrun with rebel movements which used the profits from the sales of rough diamonds
to fund illegal wars on legitimate governments. The rough diamonds came from mines
which were illegally set up for one purpose only, to acquire funds for their arms
as a means to create conflict. These rebels used men, women and children as slaves,
working for hard, long hours for only a small amount of money, as mere tools in
their illegal schemes to conflict with their rivals. This has allowed them to cause
decades of destruction for many families, some of which who will never get their
loved ones back.
Diamonds Factory will not knowingly use conflict diamonds or Blood Diamonds and
adhere to the Kimberly Process which was organized to stem the flow of conflict
diamonds in war torn Africa.
The Kimberly Process Certification Scheme (KPCS) enforces strict requirements on
its members, enabling them to certify their diamonds as conflict free when trading.
Being a part of this scheme, Diamonds Factory can assure all customers that their
beautiful diamonds are mined with love, and not causing devastation.
Rest assure, Diamonds
Factory uses only conflict-free diamonds which are obtained from legitimate
diamond sources that have been certified through the worldwide recognized Kimberley
